🎨Artist Spotlight: Harleigh Brings Creativity & Imagination to the Holiday Season📚🎄
United Way of DeKalb County is proud to share that Harleigh Cool-Pfefferkorn, a 9th grade art student at DeKalb High School, was selected to design and decorate DeKalb County’s ornament for a special holiday tree displayed at the Indiana State House this season.
Earlier this fall, Indiana’s First Lady, Maureen Braun, invited Imagination Library partners from all 92 counties to hand-decorate an ornament representing their community. These ornaments come together on a beautifully adorned tree inside the Indiana State House, celebrating the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the statewide commitment to early literacy.
Harleigh’s ornament was created with intention, heart, and local pride — a reflection of the people, places, and spirit that make DeKalb County home. Her design will hang alongside ornaments from every corner of the state, symbolizing the unique identity of each county while highlighting our shared dedication to helping children grow, read, and imagine.
A talented young artist, Harleigh is a two-time 4-H Champion and three-time Reserve Champion in visual arts. She is active in the Fort Wayne Ice Skating Club and serves in the Auburn Fire Cadet Program, bringing creativity, discipline, and community service into everything she does.
We are honored to have Harleigh represent DeKalb County in this statewide celebration of imagination and early learning. Her ornament not only showcases her artistic talent but also reflects the power of youth leadership and community pride.
Please join us in congratulating Harleigh on this meaningful achievement and thanking her for sharing her gift with our community. Her work reminds us that United Is The Way we inspire imagination, creativity, and brighter beginnings for children and families across DeKalb County. 🎨📚🎄
