DeKalb County, IN – The Board of Directors of United Way of DeKalb County is excited to congratulate Tyler Cleverly on his five-year anniversary as Executive Director of the organization. Tyler’s leadership has been transformative, and this milestone is a time to reflect on his incredible impact on both United Way of DeKalb County and the broader DeKalb County community. Additionally, we are thrilled to highlight Tyler's recent recognition as Citizen of the Year by Mayor Dave Clark—a well-deserved honor that speaks to his deep commitment to improving our community.

 

Since joining United Way of DeKalb County in 2015 as a volunteer and becoming Executive Director in April 2o20, Tyler has been instrumental in leading the organization through growth and change, guiding efforts that support local families and individuals in need. His vision and leadership have fostered a culture of collaboration with local businesses, schools, and nonprofits, ensuring that DeKalb County continues to thrive. Under his direction, United Way of DeKalb County has seen measurable progress in addressing critical needs around education, health, and financial stability.

 

During a recent presentation, Mayor Dave Clark honored Tyler with the Citizen of the Year award, citing his "unwavering dedication to improving the well-being of DeKalb County." The Mayor shared, "Tyler’s commitment to our community is nothing short of inspiring. He has poured his heart into numerous organizations and causes, always striving to make a difference. Tyler has shown all of us what it means to put others first, to serve with integrity, and to work tirelessly for the betterment of our community."

 

In a statement after receiving the award, Tyler expressed his gratitude and humility: "I am truly humbled to be honored with such an amazing recognition. I don’t think I am deserving as I try to live each day to make it better than it was the day before. Doing the right thing for all those in our community should be what we all strive to do. I accept this honor on behalf of all those who I am able to serve alongside, and I will continue to do my part to make DeKalb County a place we can all be proud of."

 

As Tyler celebrates his five-year anniversary with United Way of DeKalb County, his influence continues to be felt across the community.
