Kirby Cool returned to United Way of DeKalb County as the Community Impact Coordinator on September 23, 2024. A graduate of Purdue University Fort Wayne, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. Kirby previously served United Way of DeKalb County from 2015–2018 in several roles, including Resource Development Coordinator, Community Impact Coordinator, and Interim Executive Director.

With more than 11 years of nonprofit and community engagement experience, including six within the United Way network, Kirby brings a strong understanding of local needs, collaborative partnership-building, and data-informed program planning. Her work focuses on strengthening community resilience, expanding youth opportunity, and supporting organizations across DeKalb County working to make sure every person has the resources they need to thrive.  She is driven by the belief that when we come together, United Is The Way.

Kirby is a lifelong Auburn resident and is deeply passionate about serving the community she calls home. She is raising her daughter, Harleigh, and son, Ledger, along with their two dogs, Auggie and Sadie, and two cats, Leia and Cali. Outside of work, you’ll most likely find her enjoying time with her kids, family, and friends.
